If scaling rock faces, clambering over boulders and exploring jagged ridges and rugged terrain is your jam, then Cathedral Ranges State Park (commonly mistaken as a National Park) should be top of your list!

This place is a rock-climbing mecca for beginners and experts who enjoy soaring to new heights at the popular 'Boulders', the tricky 'Sugarloaf Saddle' or 'North Jawbone' - whose name says it all.

But that's not all it offers.

The Cathedral Ranges also offers spectacular views and some of the best hiking in the state including the Friends Nature Trail, the challenging Razorback Trail, and a myriad of circuit routes.

Spend a night under the stars in the company of native wildlife such as kangaroos and lyrebirds, camp by the eery historical ruins of Cooks Mill or escape the crowds at The Farmyard hike-in camping area.

Cathedral Ranges also boasts the world's tallest flowering tree, the Mountain Ash, which can be found at Sugarloaf Saddle with some of these amazing plants approach 90 metres in height.

Parks Victoria respects the deep and continuing connection that Taungurung Traditional Owners have to Cathedral Range State Park and recognise their ongoing role in caring for Country.
