Welcome to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, Melbourne’s closest snow field offering the perfect mix of snow play, cross country skiing and tobogganing.
In winter, our alpine resort is home to snowboarding lessons, snowshoeing, and other winter adventures before it effortlessly transforms itself into a natural haven and outdoor mecca for mountain biking, hiking, flying fox rides, laser skirmish fun and many other adrenalin-fuelled activities during summer and autumn.
STEAVENSON FALLS
Steavenson Falls at Marysville is renowned as one of Victoria’s highest waterfalls. Picture a white, frothy cascade of water falling into a plunge pool below with rocky outcrops, lush green moss, and delicate wildflowers adding to the magic.
You can feel the spray tickle your cheeks as you watch the water drop to a dramatic 84 metres below. This is a must do item on your itinerary and an easy walk suitable for the whole family along a gravelled path which is easily accessible.
MARYSVILLE STATE FOREST
Looking to immerse yourself in nature? Then it’s time to lace up the hiking boots and hit the Marysville Forest Trails for either a gentle stroll or a challenging full day hike. There are endless trails to choose from with picnic spots and lookouts along the way to break up the journey. Choose your own adventure as you cross historic trestle bridges, follow the paths of the early timber tramways that were built to transport mighty Mountain Ash logs to the timber mills, make a wish at the ‘Wishing Well’ natural spring, or simply admire the towering gums, young saplings and wildflowers that are flourishing.

Giro Della Donna
The Giro Della Donna is a weekend long celebration of cycling set in the beautiful mountain village of Marysville in the mountains east of Melbourne.
The weekend offers something to rider and fan alike. Saturday features a stunning course for a gravel ride in the mountains, an afternoon town centre criteriums and evening Coppi Dinner. Sunday’s Giro Della Donna is a classic gran fondo on the most stunning course in Australia, taking in forest and mountains with a finish atop Lake Mt as a fitting climax.
Enjoy the event village with food, drink, entertainment and exhibitors all weekend before exploring Marysville’s charms and the surrounding area.

Marysville Garden Cottages
Marysville Garden Cottages have eight cottages designed for couples looking for a relaxing retreat.
The cottages have a touch of old world charm while still integrating modern comforts and are within a short stroll to cafes and shops.
Inside the cottages vary slightly, but all have a relaxed country feel. Classic features included in some of the cottages are a claw foot bath, box window seat, timber flooring and stained-glass windows.
Other indulgent features available are a luxury deep soaking bath or double spa bath. Each cottage has a gas log fire, perfect for Marysville’s chilly winter months. While these cottages generally cater for couples with a queen or king size bed, some can accommodate separate sleeping arrangements for one extra adult via a sofa bed.
All have been designed using energy saving principles which add to your comfort and minimalise environmental impact. Each cottage has its own private veranda overlooking different aspects of the garden.
Many of their favourite plants have been included in the garden, some for their wonderful autumn colour like the the Maples and Cotinus, and many others for their beautiful flowers or interesting features and scents.
